Well made!

A wishing well for the grounds of the St Elizabeth Hospice, Ipswich, constructed using handmade bricks donated by W H Collier, was one of the creative projects on display at the Suffolk Show last week. The well was one of the projects constructed during the show on the Suffolk New College stand. Young Apprentice bricklayers collaborated with apprentice carpenters to create the piece using our Primrose Weathered and Georgian Redbricks.
Other projects created for the display using our bricks included a garden arch in Primrose Weathered and a bench. The bench used Primrose Weathered for the main body with College Blend Light Bullnose and Plinth Return Specials and Georgian Red for the accent at the bottom.
Nikki Lax of WH Collier said “It is so important that young craftsmen and women have the experience of designing with, and handling, handmade bricks which have such different qualities to machine-made. They always have such positive things to say about the experience. It is a delight to be involved and we look forward to it every year!”
